About us
IDeal - Idaho College Savings Program is the Idaho State sponsored 529 college savings plan designed to help individuals and families save for college in a tax-advantaged way. www.idsaves.org Created by the Idaho Legislature in 2000, IDeal is offered by the Idaho College Savings Program Board with program management by Ascensus Broker Dealer Services, Inc. ("ABD"), and investment management by The Vanguard Group, Inc. The Savings Portfolio, is managed by Sallie Mae Bank. The Board is comprised of the constitutional officers of the state of Idaho and the plan staff are located within the Treasurer's office in the state Capitol building. PLAN HIGHLIGHTS: The plan offers advantages including: tax-deferred growth, generous contribution limits, attractive investment options and professional investment management. Contributions are invested and grow tax free. When used for qualified tuition expenses the federal and state taxes on the investment growth are not assessed at time of withdrawal. There is no annual account maintenance fee if either the account owner or the beneficiary is an Idaho resident. ($20 savings each year.) Idaho taxpayers receive a maximum $6,000 state income tax deduction per individual taxpayer (up to $12,000 if married, filing jointly) from their State adjusted gross income annually for contributions to IDeal.
